What To Do With Those Menacing Mosquitos

Use these methods to control mosquitos

It's summer time and you want to enjoy the outdoors without the hazards of biting bugs. So you need to protect yourself from mosquitoes.

When you think about mosquito pest control you could break it down into individual control and public control. Although many cities, states and countries might provide some sort of regulated mosquito control, you will probably also want to get rid of the pesky critters that plague your surroundings. Mosquito netting is a good solution as well. It's a great way to enjoy the outdoors and fresh air without disturbing your picnic or afternoon nap with pesky pests. Kids love 'em too, so get a couple of netting rooms and you will enjoy your trip to your favorite spot even more. Government pest control agencies can use pesticides in areas where there is a heavy population of mosquitoes, but that may not be enough to deter these insects near your home. Bottom line you have to protect yourself from these small because they have been known to carry diseases from time to time.

Mosquitoes are actually flies that will bite humans and animals, leaving itchy red welts that can bother you for days. For your own personal mosquito control, you might want to purchase insect repellent that contains DEET to restrain the bugs from biting. You can get insect repellents in sprays, creams, sticks, and liquids. You can also go the natural route and take odor-free garlic capsules that will keep them away as well, and they are healthy for you too. Most species of mosquitoes are nocturnal and only the female will suck blood for other animals. Not that that will make you feel any better, but at least you can prepare as the evening begins to cool and bring with it swarms of flying pests.

Another popular type of mosquito control is the burning of citronella oil. The smoke from these candles or burners might keep the mosquitoes away, but in heavily windy conditions, the citronella may prove to be useless in keeping the mosquitoes away. Additional options are to spray your camping equipment and clothing with permethrin, which is also an insecticide. Make sure you check out all your options. There are plenty of effective all natural repellents that will keep you bite free without aggravating your skin, allergies, or make you sick. Check them out on line or at your favorite health store.

As we mentioned in another article, if you are trying to avoid mosquitoes from hatching anywhere near your home, and you have several standing water sources such as fountains or birdbaths, you can purchase mosquito dunks to place in the water, which will kill mosquito larva. Dunks generally work up to thirty days, and you will know how many to use depending on how large the water area is. The dunks contain a biological agent that kills the mosquito when ingested, but is safe for all other animals and humans. Very important to consider near your home.

Try a few of these pest control solutions to kill the small skeet's. Again some pest control methods work better than others while some are more costly than others as well. Try them out until you find the one that gives you the a lot of relief from swarms of buzzing mosquitoes. Finally you might want to try netting which works the best for keeping mosquito's out, and you in. Netting is so small that the mosquitoes cannot cash in one's chips or have dinner on your arm while keeping you protected from them. Plan ahead and keep from worrying about these thirsty pests.

Enjoy your summer and be bite free!
